The point is to combine steps that previously meant sourcing a translator and a notary separately and visiting a notary's office with the translator. Requests are accepted on the official website around the clock, all year.

Translation alone does not clear a document for use abroad

A document sent overseas is not accepted on translation quality alone. The translation has to be confirmed as matching the original through notarisation, after which consular legalisation or an apostille from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs follows. Embassy legalisation is added when the receiving country requires it. That leaves the applicant looking separately for a translation firm, a notary's office and the legalisation counters. In some cases the translator has to attend the notary's office in person, which makes scheduling harder still.

How the process runs and how to apply

The service begins with native-speaker translation and review. Experienced qualified translators handle the text, and a lawyer then notarises the translation. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and embassy legalisation stages follow, and the papers are then delivered domestically or overseas. The range of material is broad, covering contracts, manuals, technical books and business documents. Requests can be submitted on the official website 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
